The initial point of interest is the Chiguata overlook. This location provides a view of the Chiguata terracing. Following this a visit to Rancho Larico is scheduled for viewing traditional bullfighting. Breakfast is provided in the town of Chiguata concurrent with a visit to the Espíritu Santo Colonial Church.
The route continues to the Alto Simbral overlook featuring Yareta Tola and the Queñua Forest. At 10:30 am the itinerary shifts to the Salinas Lagoon (4300 m/14107 ft) for vicuña observation. Flamingo sightings are included. The Salinas water mirrors are a focal point for photography.
The San Juan de Tarucani wetlands offer a view of the Ubinas Volcano. Llama alpaca and Andean viscacha sightings are included. The El Fraile dam overlook is next.
